
Cleanroom EC Fan Group Retrofit
The original AC fan bank in the cleanroom of an electronics manufacturing facility operated at a fixed speed, causing significant energy waste due to damper throttling and generating excessive noise that affected the work environment. The project replaced all AC fans with EC permanent magnet motors and implemented closed-loop demand-based airflow control using pressure sensors, managed centrally by an intelligent linkage system for multiple units. Post-retrofit, the cleanroom's air system now operates on demand, achieving significant improvements in both noise levels and energy consumption, with annual electricity savings exceeding projected targets.
